Christian Formation –
What is it and Why Do We NEED IT?
At Church of the Covenant, we believe that God forms us through every aspect of our lives both here at church and out in our communities at home, work, school or play. As we learn to tune our spiritual antennas to recognize God’s presence in our lives, we allow the Holy Spirit to transform us into the people he has created us to be. None of us has all the answers, we learn from each other as we travel down a road that turns frequently and often goes in surprising directions. We welcome any who would like to join us on the journey whether picking up a Bible and thinking about God for the first time, or well into a lifetime of deepening spiritual encounters.
Letters from Laura

Dear Covenant families,
First, I want to thank you for your many expressions of encouragement and support folllowing the announcement of our family's move to Australia and my consequent departure from Church of the Covenant. It has certainly been a joy working with the children for the past several years. I love to watch them grow and mature in their faiths. How often they remind me of the joy we are invited to share in as a community of faith together.
This Sunday will be our regular hands-on mission Sunday. Our Fab Four girls will be making the sandwiches for ASPAN in Fellowship Hall while the two younger groups will be engaged in a "mission to yourself" under the leadership of Libby Folsom, who will be presenting her wonderful program on sugar and making healthy food choices.
This is also "Soup-er Bowl" Sunday and we will be accepting canned goods for AFAC as well as checks for Martha's Table. This dovetails nicely with last weekend's mission of the month to Martha's Table when 18 members of our congregation gathered on Saturday to make food for the homeless.
Looking ahead, Haven resumes on February 12; Sue Capozzi is once again planning a delicious pancake supper for us all on Tuesday, February 21, and we will gather for the Ash Wednesday service on February 22.
As always, I look forward to seeing you all on Sunday.
Blessings,
Laura
For what does the Lord require of you, but to love justice, and to do kindness, and to walk humbly with your God. Micah 6:8
