BIBLE STUDIES AND SMALL GROUP STUDIES
Do you leave Sunday worship filled with the Spirit only to find that by mid-week you could use a little boost?
Participating in a small group at Covenant is a good way to stay in community with fellow believers and grow in faith.
Adult Sunday School at 9:45 in the Library-Lounge
Adult Sunday School
February 2012: A Trinity of Doctrines
Adult Sunday School has elected to continue in The Teaching Company’s “Great Courses”: The History of Christian Theology with three units on the Doctrines of (1) the Trinity, (2) the Incarnation, and (3) Grace. Our video speaker, Professor Phillip Cary, has proven to be informative, lucid, and enthusiastic, and the occasional visit of a guest panelist, Pastor Beth, adds much to our theological development. Please feel free (and most welcome!) to join us at 9:45 in the Library-Lounge.
Monday Morning Quarterbacks
Mondays, 8:30 AM, Teen Lounge
Now in its 20th year, MMQB is what its name implies, a group of men second-guessing, forecasting, recounting and generally discussing sports and any other current topics--politics, economics, theology, Arlington, food, movies and of course, the Church of the Covenant. No punches have ever been thrown nor has anyone ever been turned away. Juice, donuts or biscuits, coffee and tea are on the menu.
Tuesday Morning Bible Study Tuesday, 10:00 AM-11:00 AM Library .
Tuesday morning Bible study meets weekly in the Library Lounge and all are welcome at any time. We will begin the year reading The Parables for Today by Alyce M. McKenzie. Another book in a series we have been reflecting on which last year included the Lord's prayer and the Apostles' Creed. Even if you have not read the chapters, you are welcome to join us for the discussion.

Thursday Night Bible Study:
“Disciple: Becoming Disciples through Bible Study”
DISCIPLE BIBLE STUDY has begun reading through the Bible again, this time at a slower pace than the "Bible in Ninety Days." This is an open group and newcomers are always welcome to jump in at any time on Thursdays at 7:30pm in the Library Lounge. See Pastor Beth for the reading schedule.
Dessert and Dialogue-- All are welcome! We welcome both men and women to our small group that meets once or twice a month. Call Gloria Hurdle (703-525-3681) or email hurdle.g@ei.com with any questions.
This is a reminder to put our next D&D meeting on your new 2012 calendars! We will meet at 7:30 on Tuesday, January 3 at the home of Gloria Hurdle. We will continue to discuss the chapters on Judaism, Islam and Christianity (6, 7 & 8) in "Is God a Christian?" In honor of Epiphany, Gloria will still have her Christmas decorations up for us to enjoy.
Women Take Time----A book discussion group, always welcoming new members.
WTT meets every other Wednesday at 7:00 PM for dinner and discussion. We are reading The Future of the Church by Harvey Cox. This is a great time to join us. If you are interested call Libby at 703-527-1699.
